Become a Volunteer
YWCA Vancouver is here today due to the commitment of strong-minded, progressive and benevolent women. Such women founded our organization over a century ago and they keep it running smoothly today.
If you're energetic, enthusiastic and committed, you could be YWCA volunteer material!
Our volunteers work as fitness instructors, receptionists, fundraisers and mentors, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. With so many programs and services, we'll find a good fit for you. Check out the current volunteer opportunities at YWCA Vancouver.
But before you volunteer, consider these questions:
- What skills can I share?
- How much time am I willing and able to commit?
- How would I like to be involved?
Your time and skills are appreciated. But at the YWCA, we also require your commitment. Volunteers should be dependable, open to feedback and respectful of our clients and their confidences.
In return, we'll try to match your skills to an area that interests you. And we'll provide training, feedback and recognition for a job well done.
Everyone is invited to help out
You don't have to be a young woman to volunteer with the YWCA. Our name reflects our heritage, not our current membership or mandate. We respect and value diversity of gender, culture, race, sexual orientation and religion.
