Camp Fun Girl
Camp Fun Girl is a one-week day-camp for girls aged 9 to 13 that takes place every summer at YWCA Vancouver for 2 weeks. Now in its 9th year, the camp runs between July 20 to 24 and July 27 to 31, 2009. Registration starts April 2009.
The Camp supports the YWCA’s strategy to provide healthy choices for youth. The aim of the camp is to empower girls through a fun variety of outdoor activities, workshops and peer learning. It provides girls with the opportunity to develop the strength, knowledge and skills they need to address the issues they face as they become teenagers.

Experiencing fun and challenging outdoor activities, such as skimboarding and indoor rock climbing, enables girls to leave with a sense of achievement and greater self-confidence.
The YWCA Health + Fitness Centre facilities are used to enable the girls to participate in a variety of physical activities, including Swim to Survive, dance and team games, to show them the importance of having a healthy body and mind and also demonstrate how much fun physical activity can be!
Activities are taken from the Welcome to My Life after-school program to initiate discussion and reflection on topics such as healthy relationships, personal and internet safety, body image and self-esteem.
