Are you looking for a Vancouver summer camp for kids? Camp Fun Girl offers two one-week summer day camps for girls aged 9 to 13 and takes place every year at YWCA Metro Vancouver. The camp runs from July 18 to 22 and July 25 to 29, 2011.
The camp supports the YWCA’s strategy to provide healthy choices for youth. The aim of the camp is to empower girls through fun outdoor activities, workshops and peer learning. It helps girls develop the strength, knowledge and skills to address the issues they face as they become teenagers.
Camp Fun Girl features fun indoor and outdoor activities. From exploring Lynn Canyon Park to discovering the ins and outs of photography, girls will enjoy fun challenges to help promote a sense of achievement and greater self-confidence.
Through the YWCA Health + Fitness Centre, the girls will participate in a variety of physical activities, including an upbeat dance class and morning yoga down by the waterfront. Our aim is to show the girls the importance of having a healthy body and mind and also demonstrate how much fun physical activity can be!
Some of the activities are taken from the Welcome to My Life after-school program to start the discussion on topics such as healthy relationships, body image and self-esteem.
