Crabtree Corner Peer Mentorship

On September 18, 2008, Inner Circle donors heard how Lisa found the courage to move forward with the help of her mentor, Pamela.

Lisa, Pamela and Shayla at Crabtree"I used to live a life that was just about surviving,” Lisa says. “And now, I’m living.”

Lisa is part of the Crabtree Corner Peer Mentorship Program, a pilot program launched in February 2008 with funding from Status of Women Canada.

Lisa's mentor is Pamela, a former resident. “I have lots of great memories of living at Crabtree,” Pamela says with a smile. “I learned skills like budgeting, parenting and life skills. I have the courage to keep moving forward. I want to pass that on to other women.”

In this video Lisa and Pamela share their story at an Inner Circle event, with an introduction by project coordinator Karen McNabb.
