YWCA Vancouver receives award for cultural diversity

YWCA Vancouver is thrilled to be the recipient of the 2009 Cultural Diversecity Award for Business, Non-profit category, presented by the Diversecity Community Resources Society.

Embracing diversity is a key focus of YWCA Vancouver. Our programs and services help more than 5o,000 people every year – and YWCA clients are as diverse as our services. Contrary to popular belief, we don’t just cater to women – men participate in many of our program areas like employment, health and fitness, and youth programs. We serve both the young and the old, and people from communities who have a variety of economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

We truly believe that recognizing, embracing and celebrating diversity is key to YWCA Vancouver’s success as an organization. We will continue to strive to respect diversity, reflect the communities we serve, and provide programs and services that will meet the needs of families across Metro Vancouver.
