'Bliss' T-shirts support Munroe House
Twist Fashions has raised over $1,500 for YWCA Munroe House through the sale of 'Bliss' T-shirts. Proceeds from each T-shirt sale support women and their children who have fled abusive relationships at Munroe House, our second stage transition home. MORE

Diane Forsythe-Abbott's Annual Crabtree Luncheon
Thirteen years ago, YWCA Crabtree Corner provided Diane Forsythe-Abbott with a telephone and a warm place to sit on a stormy night. This chance encounter was the beginning of a lasting friendship, marked by this year’s annual fundraising luncheon that has so far raised almost $45,000 for the family resource centre in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.  MORE

Typhoon June
Known for her tenacity and determination, Typhoon June, as she was called by friends and family, was a strong YWCA supporter and woman ahead of her time. She felt strongly about the status of women, believing that all women should be encouraged to strive for self-sufficiency. She attended the Hi-Y camp on Gabriola Island as a young woman and supported the YWCA for many years, making two unique gifts at the end of her life.

Inner Circle: A community of support
For Pat Wells, joining the Inner Circle was a way to reconnect with the YWCA. “I was a member of the Y’s Owl committee for over 10 years,” explains Pat. Y’s Owl, which is now disbanded, was a group of women who raised money for the YWCA by making and selling handicrafts. The committee started in the home of Bev Wallace, a long time Inner Circle member. MORE
