Electronic Arts supports Presents of Peace
Over the 2007 holiday season, the staff of Electronic Arts (EA) sponsored 52 low-income families through the YWCA Presents of Peace holiday hamper program - surpassing their 2006 record of 50 families. In addition, EA Outreach & Corporate Giving matched individual donations to raise a total of $17,482 to help support programs at YWCA Crabtree Corner.
Funds were raised through personal donations, 50/50 draws, bake sales, head shaving fundraisers and more - one person even brought in a years worth of loose change totaling $1,500! A special thank you to Wendell Harlow, Eva McQueen, Kerry Harrington and Evaleen Jaager-Roy for making the magic of Christmas come alive.
Crabtree Corner is a unique drop in facility that provides a range of programs for women and children living in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Services include a drop-in breakfast and hot lunch program, BC’s only emergency child care, housing for pregnant and parenting women struggling with substance use, a FASD (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder) Prevention Program and parenting support groups.
