Responding to Job Postings
One of the most obvious places to start your job search is by looking at job postings. There are many great websites, local newspapers and trade publications offering lists of job postings. Job postings can help you assess which companies are hiring and what positions are in demand.
But remember: most job postings are available to the general public, which means that you are probably one of many viewing the ad and applying for the position. For that reason, it is important to have a tailored resume and cover letter when applying. If you know someone within the company or have a mutual contact, your chances of being noticed are even higher. Even dropping off your resume in person can help the potential employer connect a face to the resume or show your interest in the role.
