Strategic Plan
In 2004, the YWCA Board of Directors and Senior Management Team defined a new strategic direction for YWCA Metro Vancouver. We reaffirmed our overarching vision of “achieving women’s equality” and shaped a new mission statement and values that define our role and purpose and reflect the culture of the organization.
Our 2013 strategic plan includes key advocacy strategies that will be implemented as we continue to advance initiatives in our mission-based core service areas. They are to:
- Engage business leaders to support public investment in early learning and child care
- Raise public awareness of the inappropriate sexualization of women and girls in media
- Integrate our advocacy messages regarding housing, anti-violence, work/life balance and single moms into YWCA materials and CEO speaking opportunities
- Work with governments and community to implement reforms to better serve mothers without legal status in Canada
Our strategic plan documents our progress and serves as a guide for departmental activities and program development, as they relate to our advocacy and core service strategies.
